Unavoidable School Closures

Main Details

Circumstances may arise when it may be necessary to temporarily close or partly close a school.  The Unavoidable School Closures guidance is to assist headteachers in identifying such situations and in taking follow up action.  Contact information for where further advice can be obtained is also provided.

See the Useful Links section for a list of the schools which the Authority know to be unavoidably closed today and the reason for the closure. The 12 District Councils within Lancashire are listed alphabetically. (note that Blackpool and Blackburn with Darwen are not within the Lancashire County Council administrative area)

We aim for this list to be as accurate as possible however it cannot always be regarded as a definitive list as occasionally the Authority is only notified after the closure has occurred. For further details of any closure please contact the individual school or the Liaison and Compliance Team on 01772 531808.
