Help Direct is a service that is designed to provide you with practical support, guidance and information you need to get the most out of life. Your local Help Direct team will help you find the right way forward - one that works for you.
Help Direct can help you get the most out of life in the following areas:
Lancashire County Council supports four voluntary organisations across Lancashire to deliver this service on your behalf. For more information on the range of support and services that your local Help Direct team can offer, call the team on 0303 333 1111 (please note that this is a low-cost number).
If you are calling from a landline, you will automatically be diverted to your nearest team. If you are on a mobile, you will need to choose your nearest area office from a short list of options. This will make sure that you get the information about the area you live in. If you are ringing on behalf of someone else, who lives in another area, the team you speak to will still be able to help you as they all have access to the same information. In some cases, Help Direct team members may need to take your details and pass them on to someone else who can help you, but they will always ask for your permission to do this.
You can also access Help Direct in all sorts of different local places. Look out for the Help Direct sign at: one stop shops, libraries, community centres, doctor's surgeries, community group organisation offices, and lots of other places where you live.
In some situations a member of the Help Direct team could come and visit you at home.

Our well-being directory is a directory of services from across Lancashire, to help you improve your quality of life and help you get through the day-to-day challenges you may face. The services listed are provided by a range of organisations, including voluntary organisations, private companies, and local councils.
Promoting our service through a radio campaign
For four weeks from 18 February we'll be running an advertising campaign to highlight the work of Help Direct through three scenarios. The adverts can be heard on Magic FM, Rock FM, The Bay and 2BR.
The scenarios are based on real life case studies where Help Direct has been contacted by the people of Lancashire for help and advice. You can read the case studies here. We'll also be taking part in an interview on Magic FM where the service provided by Help Direct will be discussed in more detail.
