Leaflets and factsheets
The Welfare Rights Service produces a range of leaflets, factsheets and self-help packs. You can read or print these by going to our downloads section. Or you can ring us on 0845 053 0013 to request a copy.
You can download factsheets on disability benefits, including Disability Living Allowance, from the Disability Rights website and benefits for older people from the Age UK website.
Useful websites
If you cannot find the information you need in our leaflets, you may find what you are looking for on other websites. The Government's directgov website has useful information about social security benefits and tax credits. You can also download claim forms or claim some benefits online. And you can check which benefits to claim by using the DWP's online benefit calculator or check if you qualify for Tax Credits by using HMRC's online tax credit calculator. It is best to use these calculators as a guide only and get further advice as they do not cover all individual circumstances. We have also listed other websites that have useful information and you will see these listed on the right of this page.
