Composting is a great way to make something useful out of your rubbish. It is a natural way to recycle your garden and kitchen rubbish such as fruit and vegetable peelings, paper, grass cuttings and leaves.

Lancashire County Council is part of a national Home Composting scheme which means that residents can purchase a range of compost bins and accessories at a reasonable rate with all the information needed to get started.

Have a look at the website www.getcomposting.com to see all the offers. There are compost bins large and small as well as wormeries and composting accessories. Bins can be ordered and paid for online or over the phone.

A standard 220 litre (width 740mm, height 900mm) black recycled plastic compost bin is available for £16.98, with a buy one get one half price offer currently available. There is a £5.49 charge for each delivery.
