A brand new website for Lancashire County Commercial Services (LCCS) will provide job opportunities, games featuring the catering service mascot Hotpot and information for customers.
The eyecatching website will include details on jobs available in schools in the catering, cleaning and crossing patrol services across the whole of Lancashire.
It will also be a handy information point for parents who are thinking of ordering school lunches for their children or who are current customers and want to find out more about the nutritional value of their children's lunches.
As recent research has revealed, children's obesity levels are increasing and by encouraging youngsters to eat healthily from a young age, the dangers of illnesses such as heart disease and diabetes can be avoided.
LCCS provide lunches in 520 primary schools across Lancashire and employs a total of 1787 school catering staff, 955 school cleaners and 481 lollipop people.
To celebrate the launch of the website any children ordering school lunch at Lancashire schools on Wednesday March 17 will receive a special Hotpot comic including details of a competition with prizes of Hotpot web cards up for grabs.
Roger Eakhurst, from LCCS, said:
"We hope that as many of our customers including parents, children and school managers, as well as potential customers, will log onto the website as possible.
"The jobs page should prove useful for people from all over Lancashire and there is also an opportunity for customers to use the feedback page to tell us their views on our services."
The new website address is www.serving.lancashire.gov.uk
