News: Quiz Your County Councillor In Accrington

Tuesday, 23rd March 2004
(PR 1194)

Hyndburn residents have the chance to quiz their county councillors at a special town centre roadshow event at Accrington Town Hall on Friday 26th March between 10am and 4pm.

This visit coincides with the seventh Lancashire Food Festival at the town hall.

Local County Councillors Doreen Pollitt, Wendy Dwyer, Michael Hindley and Jean Battle will be on hand, along with Lancashire County Council staff and Janet Simpson from the local District Partnership Office, to help field enquiries from members of the public.

The Deputy Leader of the County Council, Doreen Pollitt explained:

"This is the fourth time that the information trailer has visited Accrington and I'm sure it will prove to be as popular this time as it was during our other visits.

"When we last visited Accrington, we found it very useful to listen to local views and we're excited about the prospect of returning.

"Lancashire County Council provides many very important services for residents but not all of them are well known to the public. This is a great chance for residents to find out about the work of the county council, discuss important local issues and find out how their money is being spent."
