News : Changes made to bus service 112 - Preston-Bamber Bridge-Leyland-Croston

Thursday, 28th August 2008

LANCASHIRE County Council has announced changes to bus service 112 which will take effect from 1st September 2008.

The bus runs from Preston through to Bamber Bridge, Leyland and Croston and provides a regular service for people visiting Wymott prison. Following discussions with the prison and feedback from other users the times will alter

The 1515 Monday to Saturday journey between Preston and Wymott will now depart at 1530 and operate 15 minutes later throughout its run.

The 1604 Monday to Saturday journey between Wymott and Preston will now depart at 1619 and operate 15 minutes later throughout its run.

The Chairman of Lancashire County Council, County Councillor Alan Whittaker, said: “The journey times are designed to coincide with the prison visiting hours as the majority of passengers travel for that reason.

“However the last changes resulted in a small number of local people being inconvenienced. Because of this we have looked again at the situation and, thanks to changes made by the prison, we have now been able to draw up a new timetable.”
