The Inclusion and Disability Support Service (IDSS)

Our mission is to provide better outcomes for Lancashire children and young people with SEN and Disabilities (SEND), and their families.

The Core Purposes of The Inclusion and Disability Support Service is to provide one seamless integrated inclusion service serving districts and/or localities with the core purposes of:

• identifying, assessing and monitoring that the special needs and disabilities of children and young people are met;
• providing statutory special educational needs and disability support to children, families, schools and settings;
• commissioning and promoting positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND; and
• providing a traded team (part of Learning Excellence) which enables schools, settings and interested parties to purchase specialist psychological, teacher and technical support to meet their identified needs.
