Park Children's Centre provides a range of services for all registered families living in Skelmersdale with children aged under 5 and expectant mums and dads.

Park Children's Centre opened in the Skelmersdale Community in January 2006.
 
Children's Centres offer universal services for all mums, dads, carers and children under 5. We also support children with additional needs up to the age of 11.
 
What can the Children’s Centre offer you? 
 
• Antenatal – a twice weekly booking in clinic. Appointment via GP.
Childminder Groupsa group for childminders to bring the children along for play sessions.
• Drop in Swims‘Splash & Play’ is a free drop in swim at Nye Bevan pool for children age 0-5.
• Stay & Play Sessions –’Lots for Tots’ is a playgroup for children of ages 0-5 and their parents/carers.
Weaning monthly weaning session delivered by the Health Visitor,  Health Nursery Nurse and supported by Outreach Staff.

• Dads Group – Every third Saturday in the month. A group for Dads and male carers to engage with their children in various activities, includes breakfast and lots of fun things to do.
• Multi Sensory Room – a dedicated room themed to stimulate children’s sensory development, uses various lighting, sounds and visual display equipment.
Baby Group – ‘Wriggles & Giggles’ is a group for babies from birth to crawling.
• Drop in Sessions – various drop-in sessions for general advice, information and consultation.
Outreach Servicesfamily support, guidance and 1-2-1 help for families, parents and carers.
• Summer & School holiday events – a host of activities during summer months and school half terms.
• Activities for Children with SEN, Disability and Additional Needs. "Holiday Allsorts" is a holiday programme delivered across West Lancashire Children's Centres during school holidays for children with additional needs and their siblings. 
• LIPPS – (Language In Partnership Programme in Skelmersdale)help and support for children with speech delay.
Breastfeeding Support – help and advice for mothers around all aspects of Breastfeeding including a monthly drop in session.
 
We also have a number of rooms available for bookings for meetings, interviews, courses and consultations.
  

We support the Baby Friendly Initiative and breastfeeding is welcome in all of our groups and venues.  

Park Children’s Centre is an inclusive service and believes that every child is an individual and should be valued equally. The Centre is committed to supporting children with additional needs or disabilities and their families in the early years.

The centre aims to provide high quality, coordinated services, which encourage children’s development and where parents are supported and empowered to enable their children to achieve their full potential
