Thank you for your interest in the post of Year 1 class teacher.

We are looking to appoint a successful teacher to lead our Year 1 class. This post is offered initially on a temporary basis for 1 year with a view to possibly becoming permanent.

West End Primary School is a successful 1 form entry primary school on the outskirts of Oswaldtwistle. There are 7 classes in the school and we have 207 children currently on roll.

Following a successful inspection in February the school continues to be judged as Good by OFSTED. We have fantastic children who are eager to learn and have a superb attitude towards all aspects of school life.

The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner who will introduce our Year 1 children to the National Curriculum. They will join a highly effective team of teachers and support staff. They will be required to demonstrate their abilities through the submission of an error free application form, a high-quality letter of application and exemplary references. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to teach an observed lesson followed by a formal interview.
